David Duff, a former resident of Winterset and the North Branch neighborhood, passed away at the Polk county hospital, Sunday, November 17. Funeral services were held at Lilly’s funeral home in Des Moines, Friday, November 22, and burial was made in the Dexter cemetery. The Rev. Wm. E. Youtsler, of the Dexter Presbyterian church, conducted the services at the grave.
Mr. Duff was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Duff, and he came to Madison county when he was a boy. He lived in Winterset and the North Branch neighborhood, and later moved to Aurora, Nebraska, where he spent a number of years, working at the carpenter trade. He returned to Stuart and then moved to Valley Junction.
His health failed him two years ago, and since that time he had been in the Polk county hospital. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ella Addy, of Cambridge, Ohio, and three brothers, Henry, of Lewiston, Montana; Frank, of Corning, California, and James, of Chicago.
