Sarah E. Allen of Omaha, Nebr., a native of Dexter, died last Thursday, March 18, at Norfork, Nebr. at the age of 85 years.

Miss Allen was a daughter of James C. and Emily McVey Allen, and was born at Dexter Feb. 2, 1880. After leaving Dexter, she went to school in Omaha and was employed for many years as a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian church.

Miss Allen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Near relatives are nieces and nephews, Mary Louise and William Sawhill of Seattle, Wash., Frank Lasker and Mrs. Emily Fullerton of Chicago, Mrs. Ada Banks of Winterset and Esther Allen of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Dexter cemetery.
