J. A. Stalker died last Monday, May 17, at the home of his son-in-law, Lee Mitchell, east of Penn Center. The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Dexter cemetery, a short service being conducted by Rev. Hugh Jack.

The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church having joined that church Feb. 9, 1887. He was a member of the Wadsworth Post G.A.R. of Dexter, and for many ears prior to 1888 was a citizen of Dexter. Another old soldier has joined the “bivouac of the dead” and there is another grave to be strewn with flowers as a symbol of our love to those who have risked their all for freedoms cause.
