Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Leff attended the last rites for the former’s uncle Adolph Kauffman Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home in Dexter. Interment was made in the Dexter cemetery. Mr. Kauffman, a former Dexter resident, died at his home in Long Beach, California.

Adolph F. Kauffman was born December 19, 1885 to Jacob and Anna Kauffman on a farm 2 ¾ miles southeast of Dexter where he grew to manhood. He passed away September 27, 1968 at his home in Long Beach, Calif. after a lingering illness.

He was baptized as an infant and confirmed as a youth in the Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter. He was a farmer for many years before moving to California where he married Mrs. Sally Druet on December 19, 1953 in Long Beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Sally, a stepson, Fred Druet and wife in Lodi, Calif., two granddaughters, one grandson, four nieces and five nephews.

Services were held Wednesday, October 2 in the Evans Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Norman Luecht officiating. Casket bearers were Louie Lenz, Elmer Leff, Ralph Leff, Merle Kauffman, Paul Clausen and Howard Benz. Interment as in the Dexter Cemetery.
