Page 10, Column 7Jay Brandon Roberts was born December 3, 1960 in Clarion, Ia. to Lyle E. and Mary Lever Roberts.
He moved with his family to Indianola, Ia. where he attended the Whitter School for the Handicapped. Jay spent the last five years of his life in a wheelchair because of Muscular Dystrophy, but lived his life above his handicap, enjoying his family and friends with a strong and determined spirit.
He passed away at Mercy Hospital on Sept. 23, 1977 and a Memorial Service was held on Sept. 26 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Indianola, Ia. with Rev. Lawrence Burns officiating.
He is survived by his parents, Lyle and Mary Roberts, sister, Jean, Barbara and Shelly, all at home. His grandmothers, Mrs. Evelyn Lever of Mallard, Ia. and Mrs. Zelda Wright and Great grandmother, Mrs. Clara Daugherty, both of Adel.
