Margaret Wells, 59, of Earlham, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines A memorial service was held December 3, 2012 at the Earlham Church of Christ with Pastor Steve Allison officiating. Musical selections included “I Will Remember You”-Sarah McLachlan, “Amazing Grace”-Anne Murray, “Let There Be Peace On Earth”-Vince Gill, and “The Way We Were”-Barbara Streisand.

Margaret was born February 17, 1953 in Dexter to Robert and Peggy (Blohm) Wells. She grew up in the Dexter area and graduated from Earlham High School with the Class of 1971. She spent her adult life in the Des Moines and Earlham areas.

She was a member of the Earlham Church of Christ, and enjoyed singing in the Earlham Chorus. Margaret enjoyed acting and performed in several plays at the Dexter and Des Moines Playhouse. She was a very skilled poet and lyric writer in her later years, she enjoyed volunteering with any activities she could.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Survivors include her daughter, Jodi (Matt) Winfrey of Omaha, Neb., grandchildren, Jack and Stella Winfrey of Omaha, Neb., mother Peggy Wells of Dexter, siblings, Mike (Nancy) Wells of Panora, Mary (Roy) Jobst of Earlham, Susan (Brian) Weinheimer of Creston, Brenda (Andy) Squillante of Texarcana, Texas, John (Kim) Wells of Earlham, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness of Iowa, in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home.

Professional arrangements entrusted to Johnson Family Funeral Home-Earlham Chapel.
