Mrs. Elfrieda Algreen was born in a farm home near Dexter on November 10, 1895. Her parents were Julius and Anna Jensen. She was the youngest in a family of five children. On March 5, 1925, she was united in marriage with Everett Algreen, her surviving husband. Two children were born to the marriage union: Billy Algreen and Helen Algreen Hester.

In the month of October of the past year, she underwent an operation in the Redfield Clinic. Failing to respond satisfactorily to the operation, she was taken to the Mayo Clinic, at Rochester, Minnesota for further treatment. Upon her return home she seemed to be making some progress toward recovery, until last Saturday, her condition took an alarming turn for the worse. She was taken to the Redfield Clinic that same day, where the following day she departed this life at the age of 60 years, five months and five days.
Mrs. Algreen lived her whole life in the Dexter community. Baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran church, she was a loyal, consecrated and active member of the congregation and Ladies Aid Society. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, and a neighbor who was loved and held in high regard by all who knew her.

Surviving mourners in addition to her husband and children, named above, include a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Billy Algreen; a son-in-law, Robert Hester; a granddaughter, Teresa Algreen; three brothers, Pete and Carl Jensen of Dexter; Dorius Jensen of Smithville, Ohio; and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Herman of Fredericksburg, Ohio.

Her funeral service was held in Zion Lutheran church last Tuesday afternoon with Rev. A. C. Weber, the pastor of the church, officiating. The quartet of the congregation sang appropriate funeral hymns. Stanley Nelson, Jasper Lenocker, John Hadley, Franz Lenocker, James Graham, and Arthur Clausen were casketbearers. Flowers were taken care of by Miss Sivilla Kauffman, Mrs. Bert Jobst and Mrs. James Graham. Roy Evans was the funeral director. Her body was laid to rest in the Dexter cemetery.
