Winterset—Elaine Mae Johnston, 80, of Winterset died on July 23, 1995. A private graveside interment of cremains was held at Dexter Cemetery on July 26.

Miss Johnston was born in Dexter on March 18, 1915 to Charles and Mary Penn Johnston. She lived in Dexter until 1959 when she moved to Stuart. After that she lived at the Winterset Care Center North and Community Care Center for nearly 17 years.

Miss Johnston is survived by her brothers, Cecil of Des Moines and Gene of Stuart; her sisters, Marguerite L. Brott of Des Moines and Zola Williams of Johnston.

Miss Johnston was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Elmer C. Johnston.
