Dexter—A funeral for Ida Magdalena Jobst, 90, of Dexter was held Aug. 3, 1989 at Zion Lutheran Church at Dexter. She died on July 31 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at Des Moines of complications following surgery. Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery.

She was born on March 13, 1899 in Madison County and was the daughter of Paul and Christina Clausen. She married Bert Jobst at Charlotte on Aug. 6, 1919. She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, had been a member of the Zion Fellowship Club, and had taught Sunday school and confirmation classes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters, one brother and her stepmother.

Survivors include two sons, Harold and Marvin, both of Dexter; a daughter, Lucille of Earlham; three half-sisters, Christine Struck of Dexter, Anna Clausen of Des Moines and Margaret Aulick of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
