Dexter—A funeral for Paul Ferdinand Clausen, 77, of Dexter was held Jan. 17, 1987 at the Zion Lutheran Church here. Mr. Clausen died Jan. 14 of a heart ailment.

Mr. Clausen was born Jan. 3, 1910 to Anton and Amalia Wishmier Clausen in Madison County. He graduated from Earlham High School in 1928, and attended Earlham Junior College and Iowa State University at Amer. He married Helen Piper on March 3, 1940. He taught Veteran’s School for two years, then was a Sunoco-DX bulk station agent at Dexter until his retirement in 1978.

He was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and he held many church offices, was a Sunday school teacher and a youth group leader. He also served on the Dexter school board during reorganization with the Redfield school system.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, and a sister, Lenore Algreen of Earlham.
