Dexter—A funeral mass for Carroll Thomas Beane, 71, of Dexter was held Jan. 7, 1995 at All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart. Mr. Beane died at his home Jan. 3.

He was born in Dallas County to Tom and Ruth Beane on April 5, 1923. He attended Van Meter public schools and Iowa State University. He was also a World War II veteran. On Feb. 23, 1946 he married Bernadine Lickteig in Des Moines.

Mr. Beane retired from the Oscar Mayer port plant in Perry in 1983 after 20 years of service. He was a member of the All Saint’s Church in Stuart, the Knights of Columbus, Dexter American Legion Post 419 and the Meat Packers Union. He also served the residents of Dexter for 14 years as mayor and councilman on the Dexter City Council.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include his wife; son Daniel of Laguna Beach, Calif.; daughter Barbara of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters Eloise Feller of Kansas City, Kan.; Betty Davis of Dexter and Beulah Kennedy of Las Vegas Neb.
