Dexter, IowaDiana Jean Countryman of Waukee died of cancer Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was 44.
Diana was born March 18, 1946 at Stuart, Iowa, the daughter of Randel and Irene Wahlert. She became a child of God through baptism on June 30, 1946. She renewed her baptismal vows on April 19, 1959 through the rite of confirmation.
She married Dennis Countryman on June 20, 1964 at Dexter, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Chad and Ashley.
Diana moved to Waukee two years ago after living in DeSoto and California. She had worked for F. R. Donnelley and Sons, formerly Meredith-Burda.
Her memory lives on with her husband, Dennis; a son, Chad of Exira; a daughter, Ashley Countryman-Richey of Panora; three brothers, Ronald Wahlert of Dexter, Ted Wahlert of Redfield, and Russel Wahlert of Hemet, Calif; and two sisters, Dona Frank of Indianapolis and Dorothy Merical of Waukee.
