REDFIELD, IA. – Gerald L. Kirkman, 57, of Redfield died of a heart attack Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 1:30 Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter. Burial will be in the Dexter Cemetery.

Mr. Kirkman was born in Dallas Center and lived in Dexter before moving to Redfield. He retired as an accountant for Look magazine and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma; three sons, Bryan of Thorton, Colo., Michel of Madrid, and Jerry of Redfield, two daughters, Cindy Mains of Dexter and Candy Kirkman of Redfield; three sisters, Doris Jungmann of Des Moines, Betty Addy of Adel, and Winema Borchert of Bismarck, N.D.; a brother, Howard of St. Petersburg, Fla., and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call between 7 and 8 p.m. today at McKee Funeral Home at Dexter.
