Evelyn Kuefner, 90, died on May 19, 2011 at Adel Assisted Living.

Mrs. Kuefner was born on February 19, 1921 in Adel to Criley and Ida Orton. She was a nurse aid and homemaker. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, bird watching, singing and playing the piano, and leading Bible studies.

She is survived by her son, Larry of Clive; daughter, Linda Emehiser (Dennis) of Adel; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and daughters Karen and Becky Jo.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 23 at New Hope Church in Adel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday evening at Brooks Funeral Care-University Chapel in Clive. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register Sun 22 May 2011.
