Janice Anne Grimes - Colorado

Janice Anne Grimes died on July 7, 2017. No services will be held. Inurnment of ashes will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Janice Anne Grimes was born March 22, 1934 at Rolfe, Iowa to James Sheehy and Marie Beiderman Sheehy.

She graduated Washington Township School, Minburn, Iowa with the class of 1952.

She married Richard Grimes April 6, 1956 in Waukee, Iowa at St. Boniface Church.

Janice lived in Adel, Iowa until 1991 when she moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.

She was employed for 36 years with Commodity Credit Corporation, a part of USDA, ASCS Office in Adel, then retired in 1989 as Co-Executive Director for the Dallas County Office.

In Fort Collins, she was instrumental in helping form the Fort Collins, Alumni Newcomers Club. She served as the clubs first Treasurer, and chaired the Garden Club.

Janice enjoyed gardening, the Newcomers Club, and cooking. She was a member of St. Josephs’ Catholic Church and volunteered on the Food Committee and Mary’s Closet.

Survivors include significant other, John S. Carlisle, two sister, Edine Hoes of Lake Mary, Florida and Sharon Prince of Jamaica, Iowa and brother, Raymond Sheehy of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Both parents preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her daughter Lori Grimes McGuire, and her brothers, Donald J. Sheehy, John Sheehy, Maurice Sheehy and sister, Rosemary Poffenberger.
