Donald Day age 78, of Perry died on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn.
Memorials in memory of Don may be left at the Funeral Home.
Donald Max Day was born on February 7, 1930 at Mountain View, MO to Ira and Mary (Moore) Day. He attended school in Mountain View. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Donald worked as a farmer for years. He met Lois Marie Scott and they were married on December 6, 1952.
Donald was a member of Osborne American Legion Post #99 in Minburn. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, playing cards and fishing.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Mary Day, his wife Lois and a sister, Lois Ann Ogle.
Survivors include his two nieces, Virginia Ogle and Sandra Anderson of Republic, MO, a cousin, Karl Turner of Tulsa, OK and other relatives and friends.
