A Young Man at Perry, Iowa Instantly
Killed By a Professional Hobo

Perry, Iowa, June 1. – A. D. Daugherty, 25 years of age, was shot and instantly killed here this evening by a tramp. Daugherty and two other Perry young men were at the edge of the city, when two tramps came along. The latter had some goods they offered to sell. A quarrel arose over the goods, and one of the tramps drew a revolver and fired, killing Daugherty instantly. The tramps escaped but are being pursued by officers. Young Daugherty’s mom lies at the point of death from falling downstairs a few days ago.
