Henry Clay Clayton died at his home east of town Sunday morning at 8:30 o’clock. Mr. Clayton was ill since election day. He was 88 years old. He was the last Civil War veteran in this community and an old time resident.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at his home. Burial in the Clayton cemetery near his home.
