Funeral services for Carl D. Smith, widely known and respected Adel farmer, were held Wednesday at the Adel Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m.
Mr. Smith passed away Sunday, August 21, following a severe heart attack about a week earlier. He was 48 years of age, and had suffered a heart condition for several years.
He was active and cooperative in all affairs of agriculture and livestock in the county and a participant in many community affairs.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi; a son Ronnie and a daughter Carla, both at home. Also his mother, Mrs. Chester Smith, of Redfield; four sisters, Mrs. Gail Noland of Minneapolis, Mrs. Leonard Routh of Ames, Mrs. Carol Noland of Des Moines and Mrs. Wayne Noland of Avon Lake. Also surviving is a brother Lloyd of Earlham and several nieces and nephews.
