Louise Roberta Hansen, 63, was born on April 1, 1949. She grew up, in and around South Dakota and Iowa, moving to Granger when she was 17 where she met and married her high-school sweetheart. Louise and Morris Hansen were wed on May 10, 1969 at the Methodist Church in Granger, IA. She attended Iowa School of Beauty and was employed for many years at the Woodward Nursing Home and owned and operated her own beauty salon from her home in rural Woodward. She served as a Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher for Christ Lutheran Church for several years while her children were young and later as Financial Secretary/Treasurer. She also worked for the State of Iowa Department of Human Services in Des Moines, IA, Melody Realty and Contractors in Denver, CO, and retired from United Brick and Tile in Adel, IA in April 2011.

One of her greatest passions was the many cross-country travels with Morris on the Harley. They most often traveled with friends and seemed to always make new ones along the way. She believed that a “stranger was a friend you hadn’t met yet”.

She loved being a mother of two daughters whom she declared her “greatest achievements” and deeply loved all of her family. She was most proud of her grandchildren who lovingly nicknamed her “Nemi”. The most cherished memories with them include crafts, bug catching, reading to them, playing ball, attending their activities, crocheting and HUGS.

She is survived by her husband, Morris, her daughters Gina Lingner of Woodward, IA and Angela (James) Powell of Boone, IA. Her six grandchildren: Reece Nathaniel, Emily Louise, Hannah Elizabeth, Marin Rose, Asher James and Ainsley Dawn. Her brothers Dave (Peg Travis) Hirchert of Ketchikan, AK; Elvin Hirchert of Centralia, WA and several nephews and nieces.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Irene Hirchert, brother Larry Hirchert and nephew Rodney Hirchert.

A memorial has been established in her name to the Christ Lutheran Church and may be left at Murdock Funeral Home. ~ The Murdock Funeral Home, Perry, IA 1 Mar 2013.
