Glenn Smithson passed away at his home in Long Beach, California, on October 16, 1937. He leaves to mourn his loss, his widow, Anna M., a brother, Isaac N. of Dunnegan, Missouri, four sisters, Mrs. Susie Mullins, of Earlham, Iowa; Miss Ida Smithson of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Belle Phillips of Brownsville, Oregon; Delia Van Meter of La Cygno, Kansas.

Mr. Smithson was a member of the Long Beach Foursquare Church. He was Past Noble Grand of I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 41, Billings, Montana; a member of the Billings Lodge No. 113, A.F. & A.M.; a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonary of Billings; also a member of the Al Bedoo Temple of the Shrine.

The deceased was born in Adel, Iowa, May 9, 1884. In 1906 he went to Champion, Alberta, Canada, where he homesteaded. In 1910 he went to Gildford, Montana, where he also homesteaded. In 1910 he began working for the Advance Rumely Thresher Company. He was branch manager in Great Falls, Montana, Until 1922, when he moved to Billings, where he occupied the same position. After retiring from the Advance Rumely Thresher Company, he went to Long Beach, California in 1932.

The last rites were held in Mottell’s Mortuary Chapel in Long Beach, California. Interment was at the Westminister Memorial Park, near Long Beach.

Mr. Smithson will always be remembered by the many friends he had made in his various place of abode.
