FLEMING SEARS DIED THURSDAY, AUGUST 1

Fleming Sears died Thursday, August 1 at the home of his niece and nephew, Josephine and Fred Prohaska. Mr. Sears had been confined to his bed since February. He was 81 years old.

The funeral, conducted by Reverend Feay of the Earlham Christian church, was held at the home Saturday, August 3. Three hymns were sung by the choir of the De Soto M. E. Church. Burial was made in the Ellis cemetery.

Fleming Sears, third son of Frederick and Amanda Sears, was born at Hannibal, Ohio, on March 11, 1854. When a small boy he came with his parents to Iowa where he has since lived. In his early manhood he spent a number of years in Audubon and Adair counties. In 1913 he returned to his old home in Dallas county and has spent his latter years with his niece and nephew, Josephine and Fred Prohaska. After a lingering illness he passed away August 1, 1935 at the age of 81 years, four months and 20 days.
