Services for Marville were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Perry, Iowa. Pastor Paul Burrow provided words of comfort and Dennis Morgan provided the music. The hymns were "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and "Wind Beneath My Wings". The Congregation songs were "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Marville's honorary casket bearers were: Jerald Fessler,Clark Fessler, Gail Davis, Joe Royer and Richard Rietz. Her casket bearers were: Andy Wade, Andy Miner, Stacey Freestone, Brian Dante, Ray Meister, and John Blattner. Margaret Houseman and Lisa Willis were the ushers. Interment was at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. After the service at the cemetery lunch was served by the United Methodist Ladies at the First United Methodist Church. Marville Edna Hawn, daughter of Frank Vernon and Hannah Siglin was born November 1, 1921 in Woodward, Iowa and died April 30, 2012 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines, Iowa.

Marville graduated from Woodward High School in 1937 and later from Business School in Des Moines. Marville married C.L. "Jack" Hawn on June 2, 1940. They lived in Perry all of their married life. She spent 5 years at Spring Valley and loved it there and promoted it.

Marville worked for Perry Production Credit for 25 years. She enjoyed playing piano and organ, cooking, baking, flowers, playing scrabble, and spending time with family and friends. She taught some basic piano to her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved to walk with friends and hike to the river. Marville enjoyed staying in touch with her family from across the country. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and her church circle.

Marville is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack April 14, 2004, three brothers: Lawrence Vernon, Russel Vernon, and Ross Vernon and his wife Velma.

Marville is survived by her sons Lyle (Diane) of Des Moines and John Richard "Dick" (Diane) of Windsor, CA; daughter Sharon "Sherry" Hawn (Lisa Miller) of Coralville, 4 grandchildren: Jared Hawn of Dillon, CO; Brook Hawn Wade (Andy) of Windsor Heights, IA; Wendi Hawn Walker (Matt) Vaughn, WA; and Elizabeth Hawn of Santa Rosa, CA; 6 great-grandchildren: Oliva Hawn, Nicholas Butler, Dominic Wade, Drake Wade, Tegan Neunuebel, and Iyla Neunuebel; one great-great-grandchild Dante Hawn. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Rita Hawn Ringgenberg of Omaha, Irene Vernon of Moreno Valley, CA. ~ The Hastings Funeral Home, Perry, Iowa.
