Died at his home in Adel Sunday, Jan. 11, James Snyder, aged 82 years. His home has been in DeSoto since the town was first laid out but moved to Adel with his son Wesley last spring. His two sons Wesley and John, and one daughter in Nebraska survive him.

The funeral services were held in the Christian Church in DeSoto, of which he had been a member since the church was built, he being the first person baptized in the building. His body was buried in DeSoto cemetery by that of his wife who died some years ago.
