Charles A. "Chuck" Minarsich, 84, of Mount Pleasant died Friday, May 21, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Born Oct. 13, 1925, at Zookspur he was the son of George A. and Alice Marie Stewart Minarsich. On Feb.2, 1954, he married Mabel Janet Leydens in Rock Island, Ill. She died Aug. 9, 2005.

Mr. Minarsich owned and operated Chuck's Heating and Air-conditioning in Chicago and Wisconsin before moving to Mount Pleasant.

He attended Zookspur and Madrid schools. He served in the Army and obtained rank of sergeant. He served honorably in the Battle of the Bulge in southern France during World War II.

He was a member of Trenton United Methodist Church. He was a member of New London VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1003. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors include one brother, George Minarsich of Reynolds, Ill.; two sisters, Vivian Magier of Moline, Ill. and Sheila Goderis of East Moline, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and four sisters, Anna Mae Minarsich, Norma Minarsich, Martha Irene Anderson and Mildred Delores Price.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Minarsich will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will follow in Green Mound Cemetery.

Memorial have been established to the Trenton United Methodist Church.
