JOHN DONALD GOMKE, DESOTO

John Donald Gomke, infant son of Jessica and Steven Gomke of DeSoto, Iowa, passed away Jan, 6, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Stuart-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Stuart. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery in DeSoto. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Donald Gomke Memorial Fund and sent to either the Wells Fargo Bank at 100 Nile Kinnick Drive N., Adel, Iowa 50003 and/or First State Bank at 215 North Division Street, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Preceding John in death are great-grandfathers, John Gomke and Ralph Srozinski.

Other survivors include grandparents, Shelene Roberts-Thrane of Stuart and Roy and Barb Gomke of Jamestown, N.D.; great-grandparents, Donald and Marilyn Roberts of Stuart, Jeanette Srozinski of Jamestown, N.D., and Ruth Gomke of Cleveland, N.D.; aunt, Jodi Thrane of Stuart; aunt and uncle, Denise and Josh McClean and their children Dilon, Sophie and Ryken of Jamestown, N.D.; godparents, Mike Hiatt of Winterset and Josh and Shannon Benson of DeSoto; John’s puppy, Zeus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends — all of whom will miss this “Perfect Angel” greatly. Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart are caring for the family.
