Julia Ann Bohall Baldon

Julia Baldon, 46, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City on Thursday, February 21, 2008 as a result of a stroke. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 25 at the First Christian Church in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after noon, Sunday at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m..

Julia was born October 6, 1961 to Richard and Betty Bohall. She graduated from Adel High School in 1980 and attended Iowa State University for a year. Julia was a member of the Adel First Christian Church. She was honored to be a Church Elder, in choir, serve on the worship committee and help with the live nativity scene.

She was employed by the Brenton Bank and Raccoon Valley Bank and enjoyed her work and the get-togethers with the Brenton Ladies. She bowled for several years with her friends. She volunteered her time for the Sweet Corn Festival for many years and helped the Kiwanis Club, Adel Chamber of Commerce, Adel Partners and Adel Main Street Committees. Julia loved Drake basketball and Iowa State football and basketball.

Julia married Tim Baldon on March 13, 1982. They are the parents of one son, Christopher James Baldon. She is survived by her parents, Richard and Betty Bohall, two sisters, Shelly (Jeff) James, and Kim (Kevin) Porter, and one brother, Jeff (Jean) and many other family members and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Adel.
