KIRON MOURNED LAST SUNDAY

Funeral Services Held of Two Well Known Formerly Kiron Boys -- John Engberg and Charley Palm

CHARLES EDWARD PALM
Charles Edward Palm, whose death occurred at Olmito, Cameron county, Texas. Saturday October 24, 1908, was born July 29, 1878, at Burlington, Iowa. He spent the last five years working in Chicago, and stayed with his sister, Mrs. S. A. Hanson. It will be remembered that last winter Charles made his Kiron friends a visit from Chicago. On October 6, 1908, he left Chicago for Texas where he bought a small farm near Olmito, with the intention of making that place his home.
A brief funeral service was conducted at the house at one o'clock by Rev. J. A. Christenson, and at two o'clock the final service was held at the Bethel Lutheran church, Rev. J. A. Benander delivering the funeral sermon. The remains were laid to rest in the Bethel Lutheran church cemetery.

Those who mourn his death are his mother, Mrs. S. A. Palm; two brothers, John and Emil; of this place; two sisters, Miss Hilda Palm, of Chicago, and Mrs. S. A. Hanson, of Chicago; and many relatives. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of their many friends.
