Gust Anderson was born in Vestervik, Smaland, Sweden on August 22, 1868. He came to the U.S. in 1887. He was united in marriage to Clara Johnson on September 22, 1894, and they settled in the Kiron community, and later in Sac County until 1922 when they moved to Lake View where they have lived since. He worked with the Boat and Bait Service. He suffered a stroke some weeks ago and spent four weeks in a Nursing Home at Carroll until he was taken to the hospital shortly before his passing on Saturday, May 19, 1951.
He is survived by his life partner, Clara. One son, Dewey of Peoria, Illinois. Seven daughters: Olga, Mrs. Irvin Larson of Kerrick, Minnesota; Myrtle, Mrs. Carl Falk, Dinuba, California, Mabel, Mrs. William Hansohn, Holstein, Iowa, Hulda, Mrs. Chet Singleton, Kirklin, Indiana, Jane, Mrs. Henry Hansohn, Ida Grove, Iowa, Lillian, Mrs. Ray Finders, Dayton, Ohio, Evelyn, Mrs. Marlyn Witt, Des Moines, Iowa, 21 grandchildren, and 8 great-grand children and a host of other relatives and friends. Peace to his memory. Songs: "Old Rugged Cross." "We Are Going Down the Valley One by One".
Pallbearers: Emil, Edward and Evan Anderson, Roy Abbott, Eddie Abbott, and Clarence Clauson.Service at Methodist Church, Lake View. Interment in Kiron Cemetery. Rev. Orville Johnson officiating, assisted by Rev. DeGarmo of Lake View.
