Donna Lee Jacobsen, the daughter of Walter and Eldora (Meggers) Ketelsen was born on October 7, 1943, at Charter Oak, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak and graduated from Charter Oak High School in 1961.
On November 12, 1966, she was united in marriage to Leo Jacobsen at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Three children were born to this union. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Jacobsen farmed in the Walnut area. Donna was also employed for ten years at Northwestern Bell and US West Telephone Company. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville and also a member of the Monroe Merrymakers Club.
Donna died at the Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Hawaii, Iowa on May 12, 1996 having attained the age of 52 years, seven months and five days.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Jacobsen of Walnut, her children, Walter and his wife Kim Jacobsen of Des Moines, Iowa; Steven and his wife, Mary Jacobsen of Ankeny, Iowa and Deborah Jacobsen of Walnut, her parents, Walter and Eldora Ketelsen of Charter Oak, her brothers and sister, Phil and his wife Jolene Ketelsen of Mapleton, Iowa; Janice and her husband Gene Miller of Denison, Iowa; Larry and his wife Jan Ketelsen of Charter Oak and Ricky and his wife Rhonda Ketelsen of Denison; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
