Considering the weather very large concourse of friends and relatives has assembled to pay their last respects to one, who, by her strong Christian character, charity and benevolence had endeared herself to all. She, having been confirmed invalid for the past ten years, found her greatest comforts in the consolations of her beloved pastor and receiving the sacraments of her mother church in which she died fortified with the last rites.
She was born in the County of Donegal, Ireland, Aug. 15, 1838, came to America with her parents in 1852, settling in Chester Co., Pennsylvania, which place was her home for about four years, when the desire to go farther west prompted them to remove to Clinton County, Iowa, at which place she was united in marriage with James Costello, remaining there until the spring of 1874 when they came to Crawford County making this her home ever since and by her industry, and keen intellectual abilities leaves a comfortable legacy to her children.
She leaves to mourn her loss five sons and two daughters also a foster daughter. Her husband, two daughters and one son having preceded her.
