Obituary.

Guy L. Baker was born on the 17th day of September, 1883, at Winterset, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Wall Lake, where they lived for four years, later moving to Ida Grove, at which place he grew to manhood. He was employed by the Chicago & North western railroad for several years, which position he filled with much credit to himself. On March 23, 1919, he was married to Miss Ethel A. Huckstep, and they moved to Council Bluffs, where they lived until June 1913, at which times they moved to Sparks, Nevada, where he was employed as chief clerk in the car department of Southern Pacific railway company. He proved himself an able man in his department and was held in the highest esteem by his employers, who had tendered him a promotion, but his ill health prevented him from accepting the position.

Mr. Baker was a man of excellent habits and was a very home loving husband and father. His home and family were the dearest possessions on earth to him.

Mr. Baker died at his home in Sparks, Nev., on January 6th at the age of 30 years, 3 months and 20 days, the immediate cause of his death being due to heart trouble. Besides his beloved wife he leaves to mourn his death a baby boy ten months old, his mother and father, two sisters, Mr. C.L. Lee and Miss Marjorie Baker, both of Council Bluffs, several cousins and other relatives, besides a host of friends.

Funeral service were held Tuesday of last week at 1 o'clock at the Methodist church at Deloit, Rev. Ralston officiating, after which interment was made in Deloit cemetery.
