John Jacobsen Died Suddenly
Had Lived at Schleswig Nearly 20 Years. March Movers Reported

SCHLESWIG, IA., Mar. 4 - John Jacobsen expired some time during the night of February 26. When his wife went to his room the following morning she found that he had passed away. He had been suffering for several years from heart trouble. He had lived to the age of 71 yeas 10 months and 10 days.

Johannes Peter Jacobsen was born April 16, 1859 in Drestorf (Dresdorf), Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He was then married to Elsie (Elise) Dethlefsen in 1883. They came to America in 1890 and settled in Jones County, Iowa. In 1896 they removed to Woodbury county where the first wife died Feb. 20, 1920 (1900).

He moved to Schleswig in 1912 where his second wife nee Frederika Jans, died March 6, 1920. On March 9, 1922 he was united in Marriage to Aurelia Hoebel, who survives him.

To the first woman were born six children: Johann who was a World War veteran; Katherine, Mrs. Wilhelm Kaster (Koster), Correctionville, Ia.; Johanna, Miss Henry Rehse, Ida Grove; Marie, Mrs. Joe Reimer, Kimball, S.D.; Christine, Mrs. Chas. Steffen, White Lake, S.D. and Peter of Schleswig. There are 31 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Jacobsen has two brothers living; Paul in Germany and George in Moville, Ia.
