Elsie Ursula Beers was born Feb. 27, 1893 in Manilla, Iowa, and died at her home in Maquoketa, April 23, 1907 with that fatal disease, consumption, after one year of sickness and a week of extreme suffering. She was very patient. She was the daughter of Ashley and Alice Beers and leaves a mother, two brothers and one younger sister to mourn her loss. She was missed by her school mates when she was compelled to leave the school. She was a bright scholar and a lover of music; she was a friendly girl and had many friends but her best friend is Jesus. She said I went to see Jesus and my father and told her mother last week, “I will be like that picture on the wall next week, a lamb in Jesus’ arms.” The family have the sympathy of the entire community
