Robert Clayton Jensen was born March 15, 1935, the son of Chris and Olga Anna Jensen Jensen. He died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of seventy-two.

Robert was born in Laurel, Nebraska and was baptized in Christ March 31, 1935, and was confirmed on January 25, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Laurel. He received his education near his home, and moved to Dunlap, Iowa where he worked for the railroad and IBP in Denison. On June 24, 1956 Robert was united in marriage to Janice Mefferd at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple were blessed with the birth of four sons. After marriage, the couple made their home in Deloit until moving to Omaha in 1970. He worked for the Dial Corporation in Omaha, and later at Purex, retiring in 1998 after thirty-seven years.

He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He would always be there for anyone who needed him. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice in 1988; his brother Marvin; and one nephew, Dennis Jensen. He is survived by his four sons, Curtis, Gary, Kevin, and Rickey Jensen, all of Omaha; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jones and her husband, Doug of Omaha; Melissa Quick and her husband, Jeff of Omaha; and Niki Jensen of Lincoln, Nebraska; one great-grandson; his sister, Marlene Berndt and Glen Curlile of Denison; two brothers, Charles Berndt and his wife, Barbara of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; and Ronald Berndt and his wife, Claudia of Mesa, Arizona; his sister-in-law, Shirley Jensen of Denison; his mother-in-law, Esther McConnell of Manilla; and Rosie Wilhelm, a constant companion and care giver; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa. Rev. Kurt Kaiser and Rev. David Sewing officiated the services and grave side rites held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Denison. Organist Karen Kahl provided accompaniment for the congregational hymns "Amazing Grace," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "On Eagle's Wings." Those serving as pallbearers were Margarito Moreno, Keith Wilhelm, Mike Berndt, Charles Berndt, Brad Grimm, and Jack Kilker. The family invited everyone in attendance to join them for fellowship and lunch at Cronk's Café in Denison. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.
