Raymond Franz Walter Loeck was born July 24, 1915, the son of Robert and Henrietta Schultz Loeck. He died Monday, October 29, 2007 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa at the age of ninety-two.

He was born in Charter Oak, Iowa and received his education in Hanover Township school. He worked for his father on the family farm until 1944, when he took over its operations. In the late 1940's, Raymond began a trucking business where he drove livestock to Sioux City and Omaha. On September 17, 1944 Raymond was united in marriage to Lesetta Iversen at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, Charter Oak, Iowa. The couple made their home on the family farm until their retirement in 1978, when they moved to Ricketts.

Raymond was very active in his church, serving as the Activities Officer, an Elder for six years, a Trustee for nine years, and on the Cemetery Board for thirty-eight years. He enjoyed working on his farm, running his trucking business and attending the truckers convention in Sioux City, where he received a plaque for forty-four years of trucking service. In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing, fishing and camping. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, Charter Oak, Iowa and AAL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lesetta; one brother, Bernhardt Loeck and his wife, Lydia; and one sister, Ada Weiss and her husband, Arthur. He is survived by two nieces, Adeline Clark and her husband, Harold of Falls City, Nebraska; Karen Wiebers and her husband, Allan of Ute; two nephews, Robert C. Loeck and his wife, Patricia A. of Omaha, Nebraska; and Arlo Schwanz and his wife, Juliana of Denison; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, Charter Oak, Iowa. Rev. Eugene Ernst officiated the services and grave side rites held at St. Paul Lutheran Church , Hanover Township, Charter Oak.. Organist Rachel Green provided accompaniment for the congregational hymns "How Great Thou Art," "What A Friend We Have in Jesus," and "Be Still My Soul." Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Harvey Westphalen, Delbert Gierstorf, Paul Schwarz, Phillip Neddermeyer, Warren Hennings, and Louis Schmadeke. Those serving as Pallbearers were Deryl Hennings, Arlo Schwanz, Mark Spiegel, Richard Spiegel, Allan Wiebers, and Jerry Stull. The family invited everyone in attendance to join them for fellowship and lunch served by the Ladies Aid. The Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak is in charge of the arrangements.
