Eugene "Gene" Staub, age 84, of Avoca, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil Staub and Addie (Gilliam) Staub; brothers, Glenn Staub and Herman Staub.

Survivors include wife, Flora Staub, of Avoca; daughters, Lois (Michael) Chaffe, of Wadsworth, Ohio, Linda (Richard) Seehage, of Ozark, Mo., Sheri (Brian) Ballinger, of Hollandale, Miss., and Diane (Richard) Ellison, of Acworth, Ga.; stepdaughters, Sandra McHush, of Omaha, Marilyn (Scott) Hintz, of Carlisle, Iowa, Karen (Paul) Reidell, of Breda, Iowa; stepsons, Lyle (Janet) McHugh, of Tarkio, Mo., Michael (Carol) McHugh, Burlington Junction, Mo., Deloid McHugh, Denison, Iowa; sister, Aletha (Robert) Buck, of Shelby, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 14 step- grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren.

Visitation with family will be Monday, June 25, 2007 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Avoca, with family receiving friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Avoca, Iowa, Pastor Dennis Reich, officiating. Burial in Graceland Cemetery, Avoca, Iowa.
