Shirley J. Rosemeyer, age 50, of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2007. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa with Rev. Mike Schmidt officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff has been entrusted in caring for Shirley and her family at this time.

Shirley was born on January 24, 1956 in Denison, Iowa the daughter of Boyd Joseph and Dorathy Ida "Kahl" Hulsebus. She graduated from Dow City High School in 1974. She then attended the Stewart School of Hairstyling in Sioux City. Following graduation from Stewarts, she worked as a stylist at Stewart's salon in Sioux City for several years. She then began working at Hirschbach trucking in South Sioux City, Nebraska where she worked for over 17 years, until her health did not permit her to continue.

Shirley enjoyed spending time gardening, sewing and scrap booking, as well as spending time with her children and family.

She is survived by her son Shawn Rosemeyer and daughter Stephanie Rosemeyer, both of Sioux City; her brother Richard Hulsebus and his wife Cathy of Sioux City; two sisters Beverly Svitak and her husband Larry of Howells, Nebraska; and Deborah Huisinga and her husband Phillip of Ute, Iowa. Shirley is also survived by her mother Dorathy Hulsebus of Denison, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Boyd, brother Ronald and a nephew, Jason Hulsebus.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials are made to the family who will designate a memorial fund in Shirley's name.
