Agnes Ellen Kral was born June 30, 1916, the daughter of Albert and Ellen Donahoe Huss. She died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at her home in Council Bluffs at the age of 90.

Agnes was born in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended Visitation Catholic Grade School and High School at St. Joseph Academy, graduating in 1934. After graduating she worked for Employers Mutual, John Morrison Company and State Auto Insurance in Des Moines.

On June 21, 1941, Agnes was united in marriage to Joseph Damien "Mac" McEvoy at Visitation Catholic Church in Des Moines. Mac enlisted in the Navy and during World War II was stationed in California, so Agnes moved to Vallejo, Calif., and worked for Southern Pacific until Mac was sent to the South Pacific, when she returned to Des Moines and took care of her parents and younger brother. Mac was killed in the South Pacific in July 1944.

Agnes married Ralph Kral on Jan. 8, 1949, at Visitation Catholic Church and they made their home on a farm near Vail until 1998, when they moved to Council Bluffs. After Ralph's death, she lived with her daughters, Marie and Dolores.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed needlework, crocheting and the challenge of jigsaw puzzles.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mac; her husband, Ralph; one sister and three brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Marie Kral of Council Bluffs, Ann Smith and her husband, Lon of Oakland, Neb. Dolores Kral of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, Jennifer Bojanski and fiance Eric Beckman of Omaha, Neb., and Dana Bojanski of Oakland, Neb.; two brothers, John Huss and Dick Huss and wife, Marian, all of Des Moines; sister-in-law, Willetta Dobler of Cascade, Iowa; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail with burial at the St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Vail. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. With a Rosary at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. With a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4 p.m. And a Vigil Prayer Service at 5 p.m.
