Dick, I rec'd your e-mail and thanks so much. I'm at a loss at 63 years old, about my family history. My parents told me nothing about Grant and I found him in the SSDI. Tomorrow I am sending the paperwork to Iowa Dept. of Health requesting his birth certificate. His social security application, in his handwriting, shows he was born May 29, 1916, in Elwood and mother's maiden name as Bernice Grant. What do you mean by young Grant was indicated as 4?/12? Thanks so much and please help me when you can......Richard
