John W Bernard Farrell 21 Mar 1865 married Marguerite Hennessey (1873-). His father was Martin Farrell (1815-1896) Cavan, Ireland who married Mary Tierney (1822-1899) of Cavan, Ireland. They immigrated through Jennings County, Indiana before settling in Clinton County, Iowa.

Marguerite Hennessey was the daughter of Dennis Hennessey (1842-) and Johanna McMahon (1841-). They were married in Whiteside County, Illinois 15 Jul 1857.
