Mina Belle (Chase) Schafer

I have recently come accross a news article dated October 19, 1909 that reports my great-Aunt Mina B. (Chase) Schafer, married to a William Schafer,was murdered by William's son Linden on October 18, 1909. I neglected to continue to look to see what was the outcome of this accusation of murder. I am wondering if any one knows what became of the Schafer family and Linden in particular. They resided around Calamus, Iowa. I find no record of the Schafer family on the 1910 or 1920 census.
