The Clinton Herald Monday November 3, 1947 p. 8 Mrs. Frank J. Iten, 72, who for many years has been a tireless worker in church and welfare circles, died at 9 a.m. Sunday in her home, 308 South Bluff boulevard. Her death was caused by a heart condition. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the home, with the Rev. Robert T. Dickerson, rector of St. John's Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. The body reposes in the home. Anna Walde was born in Clinton, Sept. 3, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Walde. She married Frank J. Iten on Dec. 11, 1895, and the home has been maintained in Clinton ever since. Before his death in December of 1946, Mr. Iten was known far and wide for his generous gifts to charity, schools, other organizations and public agencies. For years he maintained at his own expense a beautiful electrical Christmas display at his home. Thousands viewed the spectacle each year and it was generally regarded as one of the highlights of the holiday season. It was accorded recognition in the newspapers and magazines from coast to coast. Mrs. Iten had made a host of friends through her membership in many local organizations. She was a member of Agatha Circle of Jane Lamb hospital, Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, St. Agnes Guild of St. John's Episcopal church, a life member of the Y.W.C.A. and the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, lady board of managers of Jane Lamb hospital and St. John's Episcopal church. Surviving are two children, Louis F. and William H. of Clinton; two brothers, Harry of Lake Wales, Fla., and Charles of Stockton, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Chicago, and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
