William R. "Duke" Jackson, 60, of Clinton, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2005, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Darrin DeVries officiating. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery.
William R. Jackson was born on June 15, 1945, in Chilhowie, Virginia, the son of Joe and Stella Gertrude (Steines) Jackson. He married Sharon Pieper on May 4, 1969 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton.
He owned operated Jackson's Garage in Clinton for over 30 years.
He enjoyed racing and raced in Maquoketa, East Moline, Sycamore, Dubuque, and Freeport.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Clinton; one son, B.J. Jackson of Clinton; one daughter, Amy Jackson of Abingdon, Virginia; five brothers, Preston Jackson of Pensacola, Florida; Joe (Arline) Jackson of Clinton; Harold (Kris) Jackson of Clinton; Dan (Brenda) Jackson of Chilhowie, Virginia; and Ronnie (Sharon) Jackson of Marion, Virgina; four sisters, Ruby Dolinger of Bristol, Virginia; Evelyn (Tracy) Farmer of Marion, Virginia; Lydia (Harvey) Farmer of Marion, Virginia; and Faye (Wayne) Mullins of Chilhowie, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jamie and Robert.
