GERMANTOWN, Ill. — Dr. Ted L. Roeder, 40, of Germantown Hills, died Tuesday.
Funeral services will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Welton, at 10 a.m. Saturday. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a vigil service at 5 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, DeWitt. There will be a memorial service at St. Mary of Lourdes, Germantown Hills, at 10 a.m. Jan. 14.
He was born March 4, 1965, in DeWitt to Larry and Carol Ann Hand Roeder. He married Shona Kirkwood on Dec. 28, 1991, in Dyersville.
He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. He did an internship with St. Luke’s Hospital, Milwaukee, and radiology residency at the University of Illinois School of Medicine, Peoria, Ill.
He was a radiologist and partner with Central Illinois Radiology Associates practicing at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. He was an expert in all areas of radiology and was a key member of the mammography staff at the Susan G. Komen Center. He was a freelance photographer with the Hawkeye Nation.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Shamus, Tristan and Teagan Roeder, all of Germantown Hills; his parents, Larry and Carol Ann Hand Roeder of Welton; one brother, Tom Roeder of DeWitt; one sister, Mrs. Rhonda (Mike) Evans of Tiffin; and one nephew.
The family requests no flowers. A memorial fund is being established.
