William T. Foster Sr.

DAVENPORT — William T. Foster Sr., 62, of Davenport, died Dec. 18, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no public visitation or services. The Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

He was born March 27, 1943, to John and Patricia Scanlon Foster in Rock Island, Ill. He married Margie Rettkowski in Clinton. He later married Judith Kampling in 1971.

He earned an assoicate’s degree from Hamilton Technical College.

He was employed as an asbestos handler for many years through Union Local 81, Cedar Rapids. He also worked as a dealer on the Diamond Lady locally and in Mobile, Ala.

In his early years, he served as a Cub and Boy Scout leader. He also volunteered with military post 9044. He was a past member of Robotics International. He was a 28-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Foster of Clinton, Danny Foster of Fulton, Ill., and Gerry Foster of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; two sisters, Marilyn Foster of Clinton and Kathy Farber of Coal Valley, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
