Russell O. Darrah

Russell O. Darrah, age 49, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Friday, December 16, 2005, at Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2005 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Rev. Michael Wey will be officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2005 at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Russell’s family in his name. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com.

Russell was born October 17, 1956, the son of Philip and Beatrice Darrah in Syracuse, New York. On June 17, 1989 Russell married Victoria A. Gillen in Clinton, Iowa.

Russell worked as a carpenter and also worked at the True Value Store in Savanna, Illinois. Each day with his children and grand children brought lots of enjoyment to his life. He also enjoyed going camping and riding his motorcycle. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Russell will be deeply missed by his wife, Victoria, six step sons, Vincent (Jody) Johnson, William (Marci) Johnson, Adam (Adrienne) Johnson, Terry Johnson (Jill Holtman), Larry (Brandy) Johnson, all of Savanna. Step son, Roger (Brandy) Johnson of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; his father, Philip (Charley) Darrah of Seranac, New York; his mother, Beatrice (Bill) Vansickle of Cortland, New York; four brothers, David and Frederick of North Carolina, Peter of New York, and Carl of Colorado. He will also be missed by seven grand children and three step granddaughters; along with a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Russell was preceded in death by one brother John; one sister Wendy Darrah.
