Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Roberts E. Ryan, 78, a resident of Davenport will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.

Mr. Ryan died on Friday December 16, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center at Terrace Park, Bettendorf.

Roberts Edward Ryan was born August 12, 1927 in Rock Island, Illinois a son of Roberts E. and Mary (Higgins) Ryan. He was united in marriage to Alice Ann “Terri” Maher on November 25, 1950. She preceded him in death on the 53rd Anniversary of their marriage November 25, 2003.

Bob retired after 30 years of service for the Federal Government. He was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal and worked in Human Resources and the Personal Effectiveness Department.

He was a member of the church and the St. Patrick’s Society Quad Cities USA. He was proud of his Irish Heritage.

Memorials can be made to the American Diabetic Association.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Ryan, Chicago, Illinois; Dr. Paul and Jill Ryan, DeWitt, Iowa; Michael Ryan, Davenport; Pat and Shellie Ryan, Arvada, Colorado; and Vincent and Sara Ryan, Davenport; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bill King, Manteca, California; grandchildren Katie, Ben, Colleen, Molly, Shane, Keegan, Brendan, Meghan, Keelan, and Liam Ryan; and Chris Orth and Erin Orth; great grandchildren, Delaney and Kyleigh and a sister, Jane Moyer, Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Terri, his parents, and sisters, Ella Marie Ryan and Elizabeth Ryan, and brothers, John Ryan and Daniel Ryan. May they rest in peace.
