Dolorosa A. “Rosie” Petersen, 87, of DeWitt and formerly of Clinton, died Thursday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris and Scott Schumacher, Corey Green and Eric, Martin, Nicholas and Matthew Petersen.

She was born Sept. 1, 1918, in Clinton County to George and Coletta Holdgrafer Manning. She married Ervin Petersen on Oct. 27, 1940, in Clinton. He died in 1994.

She was a homemaker and worked at the Clinton Garment Factory as an examiner.

She was a life member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and attended Faith Lutheran Church in Andover.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosanna (Mikey) Schumacher of Sabula; one son, Larry (Patty) Petersen of DeWitt; seven grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Bull of Freeport, Ill., and Dorothy Tholen of Rock Falls, Ill.

Memorials may be given to West Wing Place, Amber Ridge Assisted Living or VNA Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandchild, three brothers and three sisters.

Death date: Dec. 15, 2005
