Funeral services for Theodore "Ted" L. Schneider, 88, Wheatland, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 12, 1997 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland with the Rev William Kanne Officiating. Marilyn Klahn is the organist and Joel Paulsen will sing. Pallbearers are Elwood Fuelling, Lawrence Riedesel, Albert Bouchaute, Kenneth Hoffman, Robert Boock and Gilbert Schocker. Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery.

Mr. Schneider died March 9 at his home, following a long illness.

The son of John and Ernestine Beckmann Schneider, he was born March 18, 1908 in Wheatland. He married Alice Lange Sept. 6, 1947 in Wheatland.

Mr. Schneider was a farmer. After retiring in 1975 he enjoyed doing volunteer work on the St. Paul's cemetery board and he served as financial secretary for 16 years.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Rita and husband David Ireland, Seattle, Wash.; a son, Steven and wife Lisa, Salt Lake City, Utah; a son-in-law, Dennis Wulf and wife Deb, Camanche; 6 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; 5 sisters, Dorothea Rowold, DeWitt; Marie Smith, Mechanicsville; Florentine Drinkwater, Plaquemine, La. and Clara Hamdorf and K. Louisa Schneider, both of Wheatland; a brother, Franz Schneider, LeMars.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Wulf in 1989, 4 brothers and a half sister.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's cemetery in Wheatland for extension of the road in the new addition.
